Michael Janas
President of Clinically Speaking
Michael Janas is the president of Clinically Speaking, a speech recognition integration company and Nuance-Microsoft development partner. Over the past 20 years Michael has been at the forefront of integrating speech recognition solutions into the day to day work flows of healthcare providers. Prior to entering the HealthCare community, Michael was a Navy F-18 pilot as well as a NASA research pilot and liaison to the Russian Space Agency for the International Space Station Program working in Houston, TX and Moscow, Russia. Michael holds a Master of Science in Astrodynamics from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross.
Laura Janas
Chief Operating Officer
Laura is currently Chief Operating Officer at Clinically Speaking. While she focuses on the day-to-day operations of the company, you can often find her on a support or training call when needed. Laura has over 20 years of experience in healthcare to include being a provider herself before becoming the EHR manager of a large primary care organization in the Pacific Northwest prior to coming to Clinically Speaking. Laura holds an AA from Bellevue College along with multiple technical and professional certifications.
Christopher Burkhart
Lead Software Engineer
Officially Chris is the lead software engineer at Clinically Speaking. Along with his responsibilities as a full stack software engineer, Chris acts as a database administrator, website administrator, network engineer, support engineer, and many other technical roles at Clinically Speaking. Chris graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelors degree in computer science. Despite the heavy engineering influence in his professional life, Chris spends a lot of his personal time with his family and enjoying the outdoors in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Heather Janas
Director of Implementation, Support and Training
Heather is the Director of Implementation, Support, and Training and has her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. With over 10 years of experience in the community, she has been an integral member of the Clinically Speaking team since 2017. Heather is one of the main day-to-day voices you will hear at Clinically Speaking. Prior to entering the HealthCare community, Heather worked at Discovery Cove in Orlando, FL. While she does speak dolphin, she focuses mostly on our English-speaking customers.
